China's top brainiac Moonshot AI has released its latest creation, the 2.8 trillion parameter weight open-weight model Kimi K3, which has been read almost entirely through its parameters since it launched on July 16.
The model is considered one of the largest and most powerful in the industry, with a tier classification that places it among the top 3T class models. The term "3T" refers to the number of trainable weights, or parameters, which are crucial components of an AI system's computing power.
Researchers have noted that Kimi K3 is primarily designed for tasks that rely heavily on memory processing, such as natural language understanding and knowledge graph-based algorithms. While it also has significant compute capabilities, its reliance on large amounts of stored data and complex computations makes it more focused on memory than traditional computing power.
