Samsung Electronics is expanding its employee access to a new artificial intelligence tool called ChatGPT Enterprise and Codex, allowing staff to use the technology for technical and non-technical work. The deployment covers all Samsung Electronics employees in Korea, as well as all Device eXperience employees worldwide.
The DX division at Samsung includes smartphones, consumer electronics, and home appliances, where the AI tools will be used to improve efficiency and productivity. ChatGPT Enterprise is designed to handle complex tasks such as data analysis and content generation, while Codex provides advanced language processing capabilities for technical work.
The move comes after a restriction on using AI tools due to concerns about employee safety and security. OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, stated that the deployment will enable employees to use the technology in a more integrated way, benefiting both business and personal work. Samsung plans to integrate the new tools into its existing workflow, allowing employees to tap into advanced capabilities for improved performance.
