Stripe has agreed to acquire an AI model-routing platform called OpenRouter in a move that aims to further integrate artificial intelligence into its network services.
OpenRouter's technology enables developers to access hundreds of pre-trained models through a single interface, reducing the need for manual model selection and routing. The acquisition also includes support for over 400 models from more than 80 different providers, making it easier for developers to build applications using AI-driven technologies.
The deal comes as Stripe continues to expand its use of artificial intelligence in its payment processing services. With OpenRouter on board, Stripe's customers can now integrate AI-driven routing capabilities into their applications, while also gaining access to a vast library of pre-trained models and providers. This integration is expected to enhance the overall user experience for Stripe's platform users.
