Just over half of American adults say a partner's romantic or sexual relationship with an artificial intelligence can count as cheating. According to the results of a recent survey conducted by SurveyMonkey Audience, 50.5% of respondents stated that this can be considered cheating. The survey also polled nearly 2,150 Americans on their views on using technology for romantic affairs.
The AI Romance Survey, which was launched by AI Girlfriend Coach, collected responses from U.S. adults aged 18 and above. A total of 1,709 participants remained in the survey. When asked about their opinions on using an AI to engage in a romantic or sexual relationship with a human partner, respondents were presented with a range of options.
The results suggest that while some Americans view AI romance as a legitimate option for those seeking a deeper connection with a loved one, others are more skeptical. The American public's perception of AI love is largely driven by their understanding of what constitutes cheating and how it is perceived in different cultural contexts.
