According to a recent survey conducted by SurveyMonkey Audience, just over half of American adults believe that a partner's romantic or sexual relationship with an artificial intelligence (AI) can be considered cheating.
The survey found that 50.5% of respondents said an AI romance can count as cheating, while the remaining 49.5% felt that it was not a significant enough issue to warrant calling out in a relationship. The figures are based on responses from 2,150 US adults who participated in the survey conducted by AI Girlfriend Coach.
The results may seem surprising given the growing number of people exploring and investing in AI technology, particularly those seeking more efficient and convenient ways to meet their romantic or sexual desires. Many have turned to online dating platforms or social media apps that allow users to interact with virtual companions, raising questions about the blurred lines between human relationships and artificial intelligence interactions.
